Positions and industries
Accountant, executive recruiter (headhunter), VP of Operations of an online directory, entrepreneur and small business owner.
Industry experience has included restaurants, health care, the bed and breakfast segment of travel and leisure (see below), cleaning products and the internet. Company sizes have ranged from one (me) to billion dollar plus organizations, and from ground-up startup companies to companies with long-standing traditions.
Experience in the trenches
Getting my hands dirty and touching all aspects of a business has been part and parcel of my experience.
The day-to-day work of running a company and getting things done at all levels of an ogranization is part of doing what it takes to move the company forward. I have done just about everything you could do at the small businesses I have worked for. And, I have had many conversations with employees and owners alike, about the challenges and the successes they face each day.
Having so much experience at all levels of a company, I have seen a lot of "stuff". In the bed and breakfast arena, especially, I have talked to literally thousands of owners about their small business, their B&B. Many of those conversations focused on integrating their business needs into their web site.
With my own web site company, I have the opportunity to help other small businesses with their needs, web design and otherwise.
You get more than just a web designer when you work with me.
Contact me about your small business web design needs and other issues that I might be able to help you with.
Bed & Breakfast Focus
Five years (and more) of day-to-day focus helping bed and breakfasts and inns maximize their online presence as VP of Operations at Bed & Breakfast Inns ONLINE (BBOnline)
My tenure at BBOnline allowed me the wonderful opportunity to get to know the industry (big picture) as well as insight into the inner workings of B&Bs on a daily basis. Daily conversations (and emails) with innkeepers let me tune in to the day-to-day challenges innkeepers face while trying to manage the many aspects of their small business.
The natural curiosity and interest I have in small business propelled me to ask a lot of questions, which focused my thinking about solutions. Combining that process along with my former experiences as an accountant, the marketing and sales side of being a headhunter, and my ever-present entrepreneurial bent, it was inevitable that I would look to hand my hat somewhere close to the industry.
I get excited about helping bed and breakfasts increase and better the web presence. The blend of experience I possess puts me in a unique position to provide service to my customers.
Contact me to discuss how I can help you get the process rolling. Include the best time(s) and way to contact you.
